Congratulations to Edge class of 2020 grad, Yvonne Ejim, on being the first player EVER from Calgary drafted to the WNBA. Yvonne was selected by the Indiana Fever in the 3rd round, 33rd overall during last night's WNBA Draft.
A Canadian Olympian and Gonzaga legend, Yvonne rewrote the record books during her university career:
- Gonzaga's all-time leader in points (2,385), rebounds (1,140), and field goals (970)
- First player in WCC history with 2,000+ points & 1,000+ rebounds
- Back-to-back WCC Player of the Year & Defensive Player of the Year
- 2023-24 WCC single-season scoring record holder (726 points)
- 2x AP All-American, Academic All-American, and Becky Hammon Player of the Year
"I couldn't be more grateful to my teammates and all my staff here at Gonzaga for putting me in the position I am at today," Ejim said in a statement. "To say that I would be able to be in the WNBA draft looking ahead to the start of my professional career is a dream come true. I'm proud of myself and the people that have supported me, my family, friends, and my team. The work is only about to begin and I am excited for what is to come next."
