The Edge School community is celebrating a pair of former Mountaineers who heard their names called at the 2026 Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Draft.

Former U15 student-athlete Brooke Disher was selected in the 3rd Round, 32nd Overall by the Toronto Sceptres, while Class of 2021 graduate Gracie Gilkyson was chosen in the 5th Round, 50th Overall by the Seattle Torrent.

During her time with the Buckeyes, Brooke helped capture the 2026 WCHA Final Faceoff Championship and earned recognition both on and off the ice as a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete, WCHA All-Academic Team selection, and WCHA Scholar-Athlete in 2025 and 2026. She also represented Canada on the international stage, winning gold at the 2022 U18 Women's World Championship.

Gilkyson enters the professional ranks following a standout season at Yale University. The defender recorded 27 points (9 goals, 18 assists) in 36 games, led the Bulldogs with 59 blocked shots, and was recognized as a Third Team All-ECAC and Second Team All-Ivy selection.
