After being selected by the Moncton Wilds in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, Luke McGuire became the first Mountaineer ever selected in the QMJHL draft (5th Round, 90th Overall).

In 30 combined CSSHL games this season with U17 Prep, the Conception Bay South, Newfoundland product was second in team scoring with 37 points (16 G, 21 A).
