Congratulations to our the three former Mountaineers that were selected at this year's National Hockey League Entry Draft!
Terik Parascak (1st Round, 17th Overall) – Washington Capitals
A class of 2024 grad, Terik played for four Edge teams (U15, U15 Prep, U16 Prep and U18 Prep) and will go down as one of the best players to suit up for our hockey program. In 116 CSSHL regular season and playoff games, he tallied an astounding 133 goals and 109 assists for 242 points. In his rookie season with the Prince George Cougars this year, Terik took the WHL by storm. He racked up 43 goals, 62 assists, 105 points in 68 games – leading all rookies in goals and points, which earned him a finalist nomination for the WHL Rookie of the Year.
In early June, he was presented with the Edge Athletic Achievement Award, awarded to the graduating student who has earned extraordinary athletic accomplishments during their time at the school.
Charlie Elick (2nd Round, 36th Overall) – Columbus Blue Jackets
Chuck played with on our U15 Prep and U18 Prep teams, and was a second semester student at Edge during the 2022/23 season. With the U18 Prep team in 2021/22, Elick had 29 points (10 G, 19 A) in 31 combined CSSHL games. Bringing a bruising, physical style to the Wheat Kings, Elick posted 27 points in 65 games for the Wheat Kings this season. In a 10-month span this year, he won two Gold Medals with Team Canada (Hlinka Gretzky Cup and World Juniors).
Eric Jamieson (6th Round, 177th Overall) – Calgary Flames
Jaimer played at Edge for three seasons (U15 Prep, U16 Prep, U18 Prep) – compiling 56 points (12 G, 44 A) in 69 combined CSSHL games. The shutdown defenceman had a great season with the Everett Silvertips this year with 32 points in 66 games, and a +34 rating to boot (12th among all WHL d-men).
