It wasn't the finish the Prince George Cougars or Terik Parascak wanted, losing 2-1 in double overtime of game six of the WHL Western Conference Championship (on a goal by former Mountaineer Josh Davies no less).
But with the dust settled, it gives us a chance to recap a phenomenal season for the super rookie and the Prince George Cougars.
Soon to be class of 2024 grad, Terik Parascak, had quite the year to remember:
• 43 goals, 62 assists, 105 points in 68 games
• 8th in WHL scoring overall, led all rookies in goals and points
• PG rookie franchise history for goals and points
• Rookie of the Week – seven times
• Rookie of the Month – three times
• Finalist for the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy (WHL Rookie of the Year)
• WHL BC Division 2nd Team All-Star Team
• 1st time a WHL rookie surpassed the 100-point plateau since 1998-99 (Pavel Brendl, 134)
• Named to CHL Top Prospects Game
• 14 points in 12 playoff games
Perry's individual success helped contribute to major team success for the Cougars as well, leading to the team's best regular season ever:
• Finished 1st overall in the WHL Western Conference (1st time)
• Most wins in a season (49)
• Most points in a season (102)
• Most goals scored (316)
• Best goal differential (129)
Shoutout to fellow Mountaineer and class of 2023 grad, Carlin Dezainde, on the roster as well. Congrats to you two and your team on an unbelievable year to build off of #AlwaysAMountaineer
