As we plan ahead for the 2025/26 season, we would like to announce some internal coaching moves within our hockey program. These changes reflect our commitment to long-term development and making the most of the talent and experience on our bench.
Leland Mack
After three impactful years with our hockey program, U15 Prep Head Coach
Leland Mack will be moving on at the end of this school year to pursue an exciting new opportunity as the Director of Scouting for the Prince George Cougars.
Leland has led our U15 Prep and U15 teams with integrity, passion, and purpose – mentoring student-athletes and contributing to the culture of excellence we strive for every day.
Thank you, Leland, for everything you've brought to Edge. You'll be missed, and we wish you nothing but the best in your next chapter!
Kelly Mruk
Kelly Mruk will be taking over as our Female U18 Prep Head Coach starting in the 2025/26 season.
In 11 seasons split with the U17 Prep and Elite 15 program, Kelly has coached in 340 CSSHL regular season games, compiling a 210-100-30 record (.618 winning percentage).
During his tenure, Kelly has displayed a passion for our school's mission of helping student-athletes achieve their personal best as people, students and athletes. Kelly has done an outstanding job creating culture and connection on his teams, and we are excited to have him lead our female program into the future.
Congratulations, Kell!
James Poole
Eight-year U18 Prep coach,
James Poole, will be taking over as our U15 Prep Head Coach starting in the 2025/26 season.
James has had great success bringing his teams together. Behind the bench for 250 CSSHL regular season games, Poole has compiled a 179-54-17 record (.716 winning percentage).
Over the last four playoff appearances for U18 Prep, Poole has led the team to a 14-4 record and back-to-back CSSHL playoff championships (2023, 2024).
Poole has also done a tremendous job developing and preparing our student-athletes for the next level of play. Looking at the 2022/23 and 2023/24 U18 Prep rosters, every single player has went on to play junior hockey (including 16 WHLers).
Congratulations, Poole!
